For exceeding expectations at a tricky time alone, this one gets major props. By all accounts ‘Mania should have been a dud - the biggest show of the year in an empty performance centre was to be surreal, if not downright depressing. Instead, it was mostly a blast when we needed one.

Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair stole the show, even if the latter going over was a questionable decision. Rollins and Owens put on a fun bout, and the ladder match for the tag belts was a hoot. Drew McIntyre besting Brock was particularly unfortunate to lack a crowd, but the finisher-heavy match was still solid.

Then there was the cinematic stuff. The Boneyard match was a fitting finale to the Undertaker’s WrestleMania career, and while some will disagree, those with souls will acknowledge the Firefly Funhouse as WWE’s 2020 high point.

There were some duds in there - Braun/Goldberg, a forgettable Corbin/Elias match that surely no one has revisited since, something called “The Gronk” - but all things considered, hats should be raised to WWE for overcoming the odds and delivering a seriously fun ‘Mania against all the odds.
