Ranking WWE's Empty Arena Pay Per Views From Worst To Best
8. SummerSlam 2020
This was the first PPV to utilise the Thunderdome - a true game changer. With fans back, on screens at least, the stage was set for this to be a belter, but the biggest event of the summer fell a little flat in part.
There was plenty of good stuff, best of all Seth Rollins guiding Dominik Mysterio through his debut match. The youngster’s performance was more than admirable - big things lie ahead for Mysterio Jr (Jr). Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre also began their tussle for the belt, and while this would go on for way too long, their chemistry was always there.
Asuka did double duty, taking on both Bayley and Sasha for their belts, winning the latter; neither match quite lived up to what these three are capable of. Mandy Rose and Sonia Deville get a pass given their personal circumstances at the time, but the match wasn’t a classic.
The Fiend and Braun Stroman closed things off with an alright Falls Count Anywhere match. Wyatt regained his big blue belt, but the returning Roman Reigns made it clear that this was not to last.
