Rebooking WWE SummerSlam 2003: 7 Ways To Make It Better

One of the most disappointing SummerSlams ever gets a rewrite.

A lot of fans are very quick to point out how strong the WWE roster was in the early 2000s. It might have been strong enough to support two separate brands, but what people often neglect to mention is that some of the PPVs from that period are not very good at all. It's easy to look back through rose-tinted glasses and wax lyrical about a time when WWE featured a healthy Triple H, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Goldberg and so on, but the fact remains that as loaded with star power as the company was, they often failed to deliver when it mattered. SummerSlam 2003 was one of those occasions. Whilst it should have been one of the biggest and best shows of the year, due to some lacklustre performances and bizarre booking decisions, it turned into a massive disappointment. As fans, we are inclined to step into our DeLoreans and go back in time to write those WWE wrongs (figuratively, of course). By using the roster that WWE had access to at the time (that is, only fit and healthy performers), I attempt to book the SummerSlam spectacular that WWE should have the first time around.
