Rebooking WWE SummerSlam 2003: 7 Ways To Make It Better

7. The Undertaker Vs. Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy did not wrestle on the SummerSlam 2003 card. Instead, he was relegated to dark match duty. Well, that should probably be 'dark promo duty', since his scheduled opponent Zach Gowen could not compete, following the brutal angle on Smackdown where he was destroyed by Brock Lesnar. The Sensei of Mattitude was declared the winner via forfeit. In this rebooked version of the show, Hardy would open the televised portion of the event with an obnoxious promo about how Gowen was 'too scared' to come out and face him and that, in fact, nobody on the Smackdown roster had the balls to take him on. If anyone did have the nuts to fight him, he would take them on right here, right now... Cue The Dead Man's music. Hardy and his Little MFer Shannon Moore would try to run, but both would be beaten down by 'Taker, who would throw Matt back into the ring signalling the start of the first match. This would be a seven minute match, with Matt getting the advantage thanks to illegal assistance from Moore. Undertaker would begin his comeback and look to finish off Hardy when A-Train would interfere and flatten Big Evil, making him the winner by DQ and setting up his next programme.
