Report: Kenny Omega Could Return To AEW Soon

'The Cleaner' has been out of action since losing his world title in November.

After being out of action for eight months dealing with numerous injuries, Kenny Omega could be nearing a return to AEW soon.

Previously, the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported that a clash between the Young Bucks and FTR was sidelined because the Bucks have a "major angle" in the works that has yet to happen.

Now, Fightful Select reports that there are tentative plans some staff have been made aware of for Omega and the Young Bucks in a six-man tag program for September's All Out PPV. While nothing has been confirmed with AEW or Omega, this is probably the firmest news of a return for "The Cleaner" in a while.

Sidelined since losing the AEW World Championship to Hangman Adam Page in November, Omega had been nursing several injuries leading up to the Full Gear title match. It appeared as if Omega was being programmed to feud with Adam Cole upon his return, with Cole seemingly trying to usurp Kenny's role as the leader of the Elite. But now, with Cole and fellow Undisputed Era members Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly out of action with injuries, it looks like plans will once again change.

Omega told Fightful last month that his original timetable was to return for Forbidden Door, but "he didn't want to risk coming back too soon."

Omega is one of several AEW wrestlers out of action right now, including Cole, Fish, O'Reilly, AEW World Champion CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Andrade, Santana, Jungle Boy, Red Velvet, The Bunny, Scorpio Skye, Darius Martin and others.
