This week's RAW was likely the last WWE fans will see of Flair for a while.

Ric Flair will be taking a leave of absence from WWE after being written off television in this week's RAW angle with Randy Orton.

This is according to WrestlingNews.co's Paul Davis, who was the first to report 'The Nature Boy's' impending hiatus. The same source had previously claimed last month that Flair would soon take a hiatus, with WWE originally planning to pull him following Orton's mini-feud with Big Show, primarily because his wife had tested positive for the illness currently ravaged the planet.

WWE has attracted considerable criticism for their use of Flair - who is 71 years old and has suffered from major health problems over the past few years - during the global health crisis.

Ric had been serving as Orton's mentor and manager over the past few months, guiding his former Evolution stablemate towards his upcoming WWE Championship match with Drew McIntyre. This changed on Monday. Orton cut a brutal, scathing promo on 'The Nature Boy' after felling Kevin Owens in the night's main event, culminating in Randy downing Ric with a low blow then finishing him off with a punt (obscured by RETRIBUTION dimming the arena lights).
