Report: Update On Jake Crist In IMPACT Wrestling
Former X Division Champion returned on Thursday's IMPACT Wrestling vs. Josh Alexander.
Jake Crist returned to IMPACT Wrestling on Thursday's AXS TV broadcast, answering Josh Alexander's X Division Title open challenge in unsuccessful fashion.
According to Fightful Select, however, Crist is not back with the company on a full-time basis; he remains a free agent for the time being.
Jake had previously been signed to IMPACT between 2017 and 2020, and was most notable for his time in the Ohio Versus Everything group with Sami Callihan, Madman Fulton, and brother Dave Crist. During this time, Jake was a one-time X Division Champion and World Tag Team Champion with Dave. He departed the company last December due to a lack of creative direction stemming from his Cancel Culture stable - led by the disgraced Joey Ryan - being axed when Ryan was fired.
The Fightful report goes on to state that this match vs. Alexander was a case of Jake receiving another look from IMPACT. He'd dropped a considerable amount of weight since he'd last been in the Anthem-helmed promotion, with his creativity being a benefit to having him back in the company, according to inside sources.
There's currently no word on if Jake will wrestle at IMPACT's next tapings between 17 and 19 September.
