Ring Of Honor recently held a meeting with market-leading indie promotion Game Changer Wrestling, the goal of which was to discuss potential talent exchanges.

This is according to Fightful Select, who state that the meeting took place before GCW's Fight Club: Mox vs. Gage event on 9 October. A product of these discussions was ROH mainstays Mark and Jay Briscoe appearing at Fight Club, as well as GCW regulars Effy and AJ Gray working a recent set of ROH television tapings, though things didn't go much further than this.

The Briscoes have since become GCW Tag Team Champions, defeating Mance Warner and Matthew Justice on 23 October.

Jay Lethal's name was brought up as somebody who could potentially be involved in an exchange. These talks didn't go particularly far, however, and the 36-year-old has since signed for AEW.

The ROH/GCW talks would have taken place before ROH's late-October announcement that the promotion would go on hiatus following its Final Battle show in December. Though ROH intends to return in April, it has also released all contracted talent, hence why Lethal was able to sign an AEW deal.

The Sinclair-helmed group is expected to return to its independent roots when it starts running shows again, working exclusively with non-contracted talent.
