Samoa Joe To Debut On WWE Raw After WrestleMania

NXT star will join the Raw roster.

Samoa Joe is currently scheduled to join WWE's main roster after WrestleMania. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer states "I was told right now the debut is earmarked for Dallas the day after, but that depends on creative and it may be delayed." Originally, Joe was only brought into WWE for a run in NXT, and the belief was that he'd never appear on Raw or Smackdown. The change of heart could be down to the signing of AJ Styles: the two former pillars of TNA are great opponents, and a renewal of their rivalry would lead to some excellent matches. Perhaps it will be a spring storyline, with Joe coming up to Raw and re-igniting his history with AJ. What this means for the NXT title is unclear. Joe is currently scheduled to take on Finn Balor at NXT Takeover Dallas on April 1 2016, so clearly, if he's then going up to Raw, there's not much of a chance that he'd win the belt. However, Finn Balor is also ready to move up, so some had figured he'd drop the belt. But what's now looking more likely for Balor, is a continued run on NXT, with WWE seeing him as the franchise star of that brand.
