A press release for the upcoming Asylum/SyFy film Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens has confirmed that two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will play a role in the direct-to-TV action movie spoof.

Rollins will be playing the role of AstroTech Lopez.

The Sharknado series of films debuted in 2013 with Sharknado, a tongue-in-cheek disaster movie that originally aired on the SyFy Network. The film, starring Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, centered around how denizens of Los Angeles deal with a waterspout that pulls sharks out of the ocean and hurls them at the city. Though the film's initial airing garnered below-average ratings for a SyFy original movie, word of mouth generated interest and subsequent airings attracted larger audiences. The debut of Sharknado 2: The Second One in 2014 became the network's most-watched film premiere ever.

Sharknado 4 marks the second announced film role for Rollins, who spent April shooting thriller Temple alongside Wesley Snipes and Anne Heche. In that film, a WWE Studios release, a team of military operatives is trapped in a base and targeted by a hostile artificial intelligence.

Sharknado 4 is scheduled to air Sunday, July 31 on SyFy. Rollins's role makes him the third consecutive wrestler to feature in a Sharknado movie after Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.
