Seth Rollins Shoots Hard On Jon Moxley
The current Universal Champ fires back at his former Shield buddy's recent WWE comments.
Jon Moxley has made no qualms about speaking his mind on WWE and his tenure as Dean Ambrose, but now one of Moxley’s Shield brothers has hit back at the NJPW United States Champion’s recent attacks on Vince McMahon’s promotion.
Speaking on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast, Seth Rollins didn’t pull any punches when it came to Moxley’s recent swipes at WWE. As the current Universal Champion put it, “Ambrose can do what he wants. He’s a big boy, he’s got his big boy pants on. He can go out there and say whatever he wants, but the bottom line is not everybody’s equipped to handle the rigors of WWE and the schedule and how it affects you mentally and emotionally.”
Whilst Rollins would praise Moxley for giving his all during his WWE stay, the current beau of Becky Lynch couldn’t help but question whether the former Dean Ambrose has truly looked at whether he himself was the problem all along. To quote Rollins, “I’ve kept enough tabs on him to know he’s doing super well for himself right now, and I’m happy for that, but I just don’t think there’s any reason to hop on a soapbox and complain after the fact. You need to take the first step, and that’s looking in the mirror and asking yourself, ‘Did you do every single thing you possibly could to make yourself and your situation what you want it to be?’ And if the answer is, ‘Yes, you did,’ then you can go elsewhere and complain. If that’s where he’s at mentally, then go right ahead. But if he hasn’t done that, he hasn’t looked in the mirror and made the decision, then maybe he should think about that.”
For Jon Moxley, he’s not been shy of bashing WWE and its laborious creative process, but he has constantly talked about his love for Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Likewise, Seth has also praised his BFF-turned-rival. Until now.
In recent weeks, as WWE ratings and ticket sales have plummeted, Rollins has been quick to remind people on social media of the fact that WWE houses the greatest wrestling in the world, period. Whether you agree with that, that’s a whole other matter.
Clearly, the Architect of The Shield is done playing nice, even if that includes calling out his former running buddy.
