TNA standout Chris Bey has provided his first detailed update since suffering a career-threatening injury last October.

In a heartfelt post on his 29th birthday, Bey revealed the true severity of his injury, the surgery that followed, and most importantly, shared a video of himself standing and walking - something doctors said he had only a 10-25% chance of ever doing again.

In a long post on X with the accompanying video of his remarkable physical rehabilitation, Bey recounted the terrifying moment in Detroit when he was left paralysed in the middle of the ring during a match with Ace Austin against the Hardys.

Calling it the scariest moment of his life, Bey expressed immense gratitude to TNA, crediting their swift actions for potentially saving his life. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where surgeons fused his C6 and C7 vertebrae and addressed spinal cord damage. He shared the overwhelming mix of emotions he experienced upon waking up the next day, grateful for the outpouring of support but devastated by the possibility that his eight-year wrestling career could be over. After spending a week in the ICU, Bey was transferred to a Detroit rehab facility where he underwent rigorous therapy six days a week.

Having started the process paralysed from the neck down and unable to use his hands, Bey was finally able to return home on December 28th, two months after the injury. He made a point of thanking his family, girlfriend Brittnie Brooks, Ace Austin, Detroit medical staff, TNA, fellow wrestlers and fans for their unwavering support. In the replies, countless TNA, WWE, AEW and independent wrestling stars responded sharing their love and support for Bey and his inspirational words.

He ended the post by noting that “This will be the Greatest Story Ever Told. I love you all."

All of us at WhatCulture.com wish Chris all the very best in his continued recovery.
