Shawn Michaels' 10 Greatest WWE Moments
2. WrestleMania 25
This list could quite easily have been made up of Shawn Michaels' WrestleMania matches. You don't get the nickname Mr WrestleMania for just showing up, after all. From his return at 'Mania XIX, through to his final bow at XXVI, The Showstopper had a string of great to legendary encounters with John Cena, Chris Jericho, and the aforementioned Kurt Angle. Hell, he carried Vince to a very enjoyable No Holds Barred match.
However, one opponent stands above them all, both literally and metaphorically. From the chemistry between Shawn and Undertaker to the story of light vs. dark, to the fact 'Taker had never beaten Mr WrestleMania one-on-one: the build was big-time, and the match was booked and wrestled to perfection.
Michaels kicking out of a Tombstone Piledriver, before people like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns were doing it for the banter, brought an ethereal pop from the crowd like nothing you would hear that night. From that moment, the sense began to build that Shawn might actually be able to beat the streak.
Jim Ross did a marvellous job here too, so some credit has to go to Good Ol' JR.
