Stone Cold Steve Austin's 6 WWE Title Reigns Ranked Worst To Best
4. WWE Championship (4th) 28 June 1999 - 22 August 1999
Almost exactly one year after winning his second WWE Championship from Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin was kickstarting his fourth after beating Kane's brother, The Undertaker, on Raw is War.
A violent feud with the former champion's Corporate Ministry (with Vince obviously involved) brought some of the most entertaining and hardcore segments in the history of RAW leading into a First Blood Match for the strap at July's Fully Loaded.
In the weeks heading into that bout, both participants signed the contract for the encounter with the other's own blood. Due to the fact Steve retained over 'Taker, Vince McMahon was also fired thanks to the match's stip.
This is what elevates this reign above his second, even though it would not last much longer since Steve would soon drop the belt to Mankind at SummerSlam after having, reportedly, refused to do the job for Triple H - who ended up winning the title from Mankind on the following night's RAW.
'The Rattlesnake' would put Hunter over in a singles bout for the title at October's No Mercy anyway, but not before rehiring Vince and helping him win the freakin' title from 'The Game'. So thanks a lot for that, Steve!
