Television's 10 Best "Wrestling Episodes"

4. "Piledriver" - Space Ghost Coast To Coast

boy meets world
Cartoon Network

SG:S2C was an inspired creation; a c-list superhero from the 1960’s finds a new career as a talk show host, flanked by his former nemeses as sidekicks, and they interview actual video footage of real live celebrities. And while Space Ghost was bizarre and violent enough on his own, in this episode his vacant chair was filled by the even more berserk Grandpa Ghostal, voiced by the incomparable “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Savage’s elderly space ranger screams nonsense at guests like Rob Zombie and a very young Raven-Symone while his grandson does listless battle with someone called The Mind-Taker.

This episode is, like anything that features Randy Savage, utterly amazing. You get the feeling that the microphone they used to record Savage’s dialogue collapsed the moment he stopped screaming into it, such was his commitment to this role. Fortunately, while Grandpa Ghostal would never be seen again, this was not to be Macho’s last foray into voice acting.

Immortal dialogue: “HEEEEEYYYY LITTLE GIRL! DID YOU KNOW HAYSTACKS CALHOUN!? HE WAS A MOUNTAIN OF A MAN!”
