WWE Debut: Raw, January 30

Has it really been less than a year since Samoa Joe debuted on Raw?

*Checks calendar* Yes, it’s been 11 months, and despite not winning any titles in 2017, Joe has reached a main event level where he is seen as a threat to just about every top guy on Raw. In fact, since his first day on the red brand, Joe has been treated like a killer.

He’s beaten Roman Reigns and taken the fight directly to Brock Lesnar. He’s targeted the entire Shield with a vendetta. In between it all, Joe has been a force on Raw throughout the entire year.

Seriously, would anyone not buy Samoa Joe as WWE Universal Champion right now? WWE has been gifted a guy who can talk, can wrestle, looks the part, and fans buy as a legit top guy. Perhaps 2018 will yield big things for the Samoan Submission Machine.
