Macho Man Randy Savage was a notoriously intense individual, and there was no chance that he would allow his girlfriend to leave him for some guitarist without a confrontation.

Savage took his opportunity to get his hands on Doyle by going to a Misfits concert.

According to Misfits biographer James Greene Jr., Savage was granted entry at a show and went to the backstage area, hoping to confront Doyle when the band left the stage. Doyle caught wind of Savage’s plan and wanted nothing to do with it. When the show ended, Doyle removed his guitar, hopped down into the audience, and walked out the front door of the venue, avoiding the backstage area altogether.

As a result, vocalist Michael Graves and a few others ended up being cornered backstage by a loud, and apparently very drunk Macho Man. Graves recalled Savage being very angry and very scary, and the singer handled the situation by remaining very calm, and calling the enraged wrestler “Mr. Man.”
