After a 2004 return to the 'Deadman' persona, Undertaker began a long road to re-establishing his in-ring value that would eventually show itself in a host of utterly astounding matches, particularly at WrestleMania.

After a largely enjoyable series with Randy Orton in 2005, he reached the next level in his renaissance in an explosive February 2006 World Title clash with Kurt Angle that still claims match-of-the-year honours from many discerning observers.

As a Picasso of the wrestling canvas, Angle was capable of painting beautiful pictures with talents up and down the roster, but he could only claim half of the credit for a contest it was clear 'The Deadman' wanted to use as an advert for his reinvigorated career.

The two went at one another with a measured pace at first, but the contest built beautifully around champion Angle trying to use his wrestling acumen to stay a step ahead of Undertaker at all times.

'Taker stuck with him though, offering seemingly no escape for the Olympic Gold Medallist before Angle played on his exhaustion and rolled him up after half an hour of absorbing action. The new and improved Undertaker was here.
