The Complete A-Z Of The Undertaker

23. D - Dave Batista

Commencing thanks to their mutual dissatisfaction with a mid-card position on the WrestleMania 23 card in April 2007, The Undertaker and Batista would have a run of matches over the following year that remain unmatched in quality by big man standards.

Not content with stealing the show at WrestleMania itself, they went on to take match-of-the-night honours at Backlash, Cyber Sunday, Survivor Series and Armageddon that same year, then clashed for large parts of the 2008 Royal Rumble and bookended the 2008 Smackdown Elimination Chamber as the first two in and the last men standing.

Hard-hitting and intense, they both worked out of their skin to match each war an instant classic, elevating both themselves and Smackdown as a brand to lofty new heights away from Monday Night Raw's 'A-show' glare.
