'The Boss & Hug Connection' remarkably formed a tag unit from the dying embers of their friendship after insipid counselling sessions with Laurinaitis-era gag character Dr Shelby, but it was a necessary evil after the feud was completely left for dead after months of stop-start tension between the two.

It looks as though those dreaming of a TakeOver: Brooklyn rematch on a grander stage may never get their wish - they were chucking each other out of battle royals in January and April this year, and look set to do just that again after Christmas.
