The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Of Hulk Hogan's Wrestling Career

The Good

5. An Iconic Showdown

The Rock Hulk Hogan
WWE

While the vast majority of Hulk Hogan’s great moments came during the last century, he delivered one of his biggest career moves in 2002 at WrestleMania 18, when Hollywood Hogan squared off against The Rock.

Forget all the dismal WWF-nWo dreck that polluted our televisions that winter and spring, including the attempted vehicular manslaughter. All anyone really cares about from that era was Hogan and Rock facing off in the Skydome in Toronto that night.

Hogan came into the match as the clear villain, an invader recruited by Vince McMahon to kill his creation – the WWF – alongside his nWo compadres. Rock was the hero, defending the company against the man who tried for a decade to kill it while in WCW.

Instead, fans turned this into an unforgettable moment, cheering Hulk and making Rock the bad guy in the story. Hogan and Rocky had to change roles on the fly, as Hulk became a babyface in the moment. He would lose that night, but the Hulkster would ride that newfound popularity to one final WWF (Undisputed) World Championship reign.

This was truly a magical night for wrestling fans, regardless of how you felt about Hogan.
