The Major Problem About WWE's "New Era" Nobody Wants To Talk About

WWE WrestleMania 40 Kickoff Becky Lynch Rhea Ripley

The talent, environment, and stories are unquestionably there. But does Trips honestly just have the guts to put his money where his mouth is?

Just look at the violent masterpiece Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair were able to produce at WrestleMania 39. With a properly thrilling build, 'The Nightmare' believes the two could have likely main evented one of the two nights - and she's probably right.

Now both Bayley & IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley & (what is almost certainly going to be) Becky Lynch seemingly have precisely the gripping programs worthy of a 'Mania show-closing spot.

Rhodes vs. Reigns simply has to go on last on Night Two - Finish the Story, WeWantCody, and two years' worth of storytelling demands it. But would anyone really be that bothered by the visual of the modern day Two-Man Power Trip potentially taking on The American Visionaries at the start of the whole two-night extravaganza?

That would free up the space for WWE to make a much-needed statement, letting the world know that in this "new era" not even a returning 'Great One' is enough to keep the strongest women's division on the planet from closing out one half of the biggest event of the year.

All currently involved in bringing these epic PLEs to life should be embarrassed by the fact it's been almost three years since the outstanding female WWE workers went on last at a 'Mania.

And speaking of that match, having one half of that last all-women's main event clash with her fellow powerhouse superstar Jade Cargill is also an absolute no-brainer. When was the last time WWE booked a blockbuster 'Mania women's contest that didn't involve a title? And what's stopping that finally becoming the norm in this "new era", eh?

Nothing, that's what.

Just do the right thing, Paul. Make WrestleMania XL the night WWE properly started to present both their male and female talent as the equals they claim they already are.

Then don't stop there. Take all this momentum and attention on a product that has never been hotter and pump it into more long-term plans for all of the brilliant ladies mentioned above.

Put simply, there's absolutely nothing "new" about this WWE era if Triple H continues to repeat the infuriating mistakes of the past.

So, it's time to really take things to a whole new level, and consistently give these women the spots and pushes they f*****g deserve.
