The Major Problem About WWE's "New Era" Nobody Wants To Talk About

WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Jade Cargill

Picture it: A few weeks after finally officially putting pen to paper on her main roster deal, Jade Cargill finds herself in Adam Pearce's office, standing alongside the rest of the bickering women's mid-card, arguing over who deserves the next shot at the unimportant doubles straps.

After finally announcing another fatal four-way to decide the number one contenders, a relieved Pearce lets out a sigh and wonders where he can grab himself a well-earned drink after dealing with all these angry ladies once again!

What is he like, eh?

Unfortunately, that made-up scenario isn't as unlikely as it should be.

A quick glance at the talents 'The Game' has brought into his women's division over the last 12-months or so tells the story of a 'Cerebral Assassin' who either doesn't care about making returning or debuting names feel special... or just doesn't know how to anymore.

Alba Fyre Isla Dawn Kairi Sane

Kairi Sane's surprising comeback just resulted in her becoming another reliable name shuffled into the pack, though she's at least doing every she can to make those women's tag straps feel somewhat important alongside Asuka - when they're actually booked to wrestle.

Indi Hartwell & Candice LeRae swiftly turned into forgettable jobbers who spend more time grumbling in Pearce's office than they do in the ring. Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn regularly go missing for months. Kayden Carter & Katana Chance have had their moments, but still haven't been made to feel like anything other than dancing losers.

And Zoey Stark's promising arrival has completely fizzled out on the back of her part in a painful Stratus/Lynch feud, just-fine match with Ripley at Survivor Series, and an uninspiring team-up with Shayna Baszler.

So, what evidence is there to suggest that Trips and his team will be able to keep the likes of the magnificent Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill feeling undeniably special during these vital early stages of main roster life?

Do you really trust the bloke who frequently books the scarily inexperienced Maxxine Dupri to wrestle singles matches live on Raw to hide the weaknesses of those up-and-coming workers going forward?

All is not lost, though, folks. And these major problems in his women's division can all be solved. That's if Paul Levesque truly wants to unleash "an all new WWE" on his universe...

CONT'D...
