The Monday Night War Debate: 14 Things We Learned From Eric Bischoff & Bruce Prichard

6. Fake Razor Ramon & Fake Diesel

For anyone watching back then you no doubt remember how WWE was promoting the shocking return of Razor Ramon and Diesel not long after they'd formed the nWo, and many fans were convinced the stars were returning to Raw. Unfortunately what we got was a bizarre short term heel turn for Jim Ross and the inroduction of the future Kane as Diesel and journeyman Rick Bogner as Razor Ramon. Jericho then asks about what the story was behind bringing in the fake Diesel and Razor Ramon and Prichard says it was 100% WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt's idea. He conceived it as a way to prove that the company owned the intellectual properties, making it a tool in the lawsuit. Bischoff asks "So the idea was to create horsesh*t television to prove a legal point?" Bruce just stammers a bit and agrees that it was really bad and then says "next question."
