The Shocking Stat Behind Why WWE Survivor Series 2021 Is Already A Bust

Maybe it's time WWE put an end to Brand Supremacy once and for all?

WWE announced this year's men's and women's Survivor Series teams via Twitter over the weekend, as the company once again promotes the concept of "brand supremacy" ahead of the 21 November pay-per-view.

Here's how they came out:-

Men's: Team Raw (Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy. King Woods, Sami Zayn, Happy Corbin)

Women's: Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Carmella, Liv Morgan, Queen Zelina) vs. Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya, Aliyah)

The idea of brand supremacy has lost credibility in recent years, given WWE's decision to host Survivor Series so close to its annual draft. Any criticism is particularly relevant this year, as while WWE completed its latest roster reshuffle on 4 October, the changes didn't come into play until 22 October.

As a result, 70% of the wrestlers announced for these teams were representing different brands just over two weeks ago. This includes the entire Raw men's team, all of whom were on SmackDown before the draft, as well as McIntyre, Hardy, Woods, Belair, Carmella, Morgan, Zelina, Baszler, and Aliyah, who also shifted shows.

Only Zayn, Corbin, Ripley, Banks, Shotzi, and Natalya will be fighting for shows they have any kind of tenure on.
