The Truth About Daniel Bryan's Recent Image Change

Under the ring and under the thumb (almost)!

Daniel Bryan TLC 2019

Daniel Bryan told MySanAntonio.com that his recent haircut happened live under the ring on the 29 November 2019 episode of SmackDown.

What's more, Bryan said the image change was his idea and something he thought would prolong his feud with Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' beyond the festive period. WWE agreed, but they wanted Daniel to cut his long hair as well as the beard. That wasn't his original plan.

Bryan claims he wanted to keep the hair, or at least most of it, but wasn't left with much a choice when WWE positioned barbers underneath the ring in Alabama; two men were tasked with shearing Dan's locks off in the dark so Wyatt had clumps of hair to "rip out". They did their best given the circumstances.

After the show, it took 45 minutes for hairdressers to make Bryan look presentable, but he then faced the wrath of an angry Brie Bella over FaceTime. Daniel says Brie "hates shaved heads" and he was worried about her reaction.

Luckily, the couple had family over for Thanksgiving, and that meant Bella couldn't go all 'Brie Mode' on Bryan's ass. By the time they'd left, she'd calmed down.

The question must be asked though. Why didn't WWE use fake hair for the segment so D-Bry could get a proper haircut afterwards?
