The Undertaker’s 10 Best WWE SmackDown Matches

7. Vs. Batista - SmackDown (25 April 2008)

The year following their epic rivalry, 'Taker and Batista reignited the magic for a No Disqualification match on SmackDown. The reason for this rematch was simple: Edge was set to face The Undertaker at Backlash and, knowing that the two former rivals would tear each other apart, he and Vickie Guerrero set the pair's match for the SmackDown two nights before the PPV - and tearing each other apart is exactly what 'The Phenom' and Batista did.

As they knew each other incredibly well, there was little time wasted on the feeling out process. Instead, we got straight into the hard-hitting strikes and it didn't take long for the signatures to follow with spears, Chokeslams and even a Hell's Gate attempt coming early. The action was so darn entertaining that it was easy to forget that it was a No DQ match - with steel steps only playing a part in the closing moments.

There is no doubt that the SmackDown audience got their money's worth with this one. The match entertained just as much as their five classics from 2007 but it managed to do so in much less time, and that really is a testament to how great these two men were. Though it ran less than 10 minutes, it looked like a war had taken place by the time that 'Taker emerged victorious with his World Heavyweight Championship.
