The WORST Moment From Every WWE WrestleMania

14. Daniel Bryan Lasts 18 Seconds (WrestleMania XXVIII)

If the plan was to humble both Daniel Bryan and Sheamus by booking them in back to back non-events at WrestleMania XXVII and XXVIII, then WWE's mission was accomplished. The duelling pair were bumped to the pre-show in 2011, then went a paltry 18 seconds in a World Title showdown the following year whilst kicking off the main card. It wasn't exactly the best use of them as a combo.

This was surely an exercise in humiliation for a wrestling machine like Bryan, but it didn’t work. Fans rallied behind him harder, then eventually turned him into a top babyface. The 'Yes Movement' would irritate higher-ups until they were forced to give in and book him properly. Behold the power of your voice as an audience, people.

For the record, a full 2 minutes were gifted to Mick Foley, Santino Marella and some dude from TV show The Deadliest Catch so they could punch crabs later in the night. Cross-promotional dollars matter in big business, but this was 'Mania not Raw/SmackDown, and there was no reasonable excuse for giving Captain Keith Colburn more time on the show than Bryan Danielson. None whatsoever.

WWE wouldn't have bothered trying to explain it away. If anything, they'd have doubled down at the time and called Bryan a "B+ player at best". He wasn't. He was always an A grade piece of talent, and one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet. Dan vs. Sheamus II deserved more respect after XXVII's pre-show berth.

They would've smashed it as well.
