The Young Bucks are having the time of their lives onscreen since losing EVP status back at All In Texas on 12 July. Together, the brothers lost to Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland - a pre-match stipulation called for the pair to be stripped of their lofty AEW job titles in storyline should they stare at the lights.

On Wednesday's episode of All Elite flagship show Dynamite, The Bucks wrestled Brody King and Bandido in an AEW Tag Title Eliminator Tournament semi final. They lost again, but that isn't the biggest part of the story here. During their entrance, The Young Bucks watched in horror as several things went wrong. It was a masterclass in clowning yourselves.

Firstly, they struggled to get around and under parts of the set that triggered Spinal Tap style. Next, ring announcer Justin Roberts read out a statement the duo had apparently demanded he pay close attention to when introducing them. He did so verbatim, including "exclamation points" and "commas".

The pair's usual music was low rent MIDI quality, they got one solitary sparkler instead of lush pyrotechnics, then The Bucks nameplate even read "Max & Jeremy". For those not in the know, that's a throwback to the team's time as an aspiring energetic tag on TNA's undercard approx 15 years ago.

They were known as Generation Me back then.

Matt Jackson told Sports Illustrated that The Young Bucks are "on a massive winning streak right now". He doesn't mean in front of cameras. Matt is referring to the team's creative work, because he's having an absolute blast poking fun at himself and his sibling every chance they get.

Nick Jackson chimed in to say: "We love to make fun of ourselves. If you can’t be the butt of a joke in this business sometimes, you probably picked a bad profession. We also like to reinvent our character work and that’s exactly what this has given us". On the latter point, he revealed that Chris Jericho has helped teach the duo how to adapt and change with the times.

The Bucks are having some laugh, and they hope AEW fans are too.
