THIS Is The Top Heel In Wrestling Today

FTR Dynamite
AEW/Lee South

At Fight For The Fallen, on July 15, as Page watched the Elite wrestle the Jurassic Express, Harwood and Wheeler joined him at the bar. They were his drinking buddies now, and what a phenomenally inspired plot development this was. FTR embodied everything Page wanted from his friends in January and February. They congratulated him on his success, and they made a toast to it. The Bucks in contrast framed those wins as collective Elite triumphs, and forcibly removed the drinks from his hand.

A sort of truce was made on the July 29 Dynamite, when all three teams were preyed on by the Dark Order. This set up a 12-man tag on August 5. In another excellent match, Dax Hardwood "suffered" "an injury". He was carried to the back by Wheeler and Hangman, who later emerged to somewhat restore the balance in a match constructed so elegantly to get the Dark Order over without putting the Elite under. But this time, in yet more deft, dovetailing booking, Mr. Brodie Lee put an end to the trademark hot tag spot, thus getting him over as the imminent TNT Champion.

FTR formally turned on Tag Team Appreciation night by beating down Ricky Morton. Hangman, the real hero in this incredibly dense saga, was pissed off - but FTR convinced him that they did it only as a response to the Rock N' Rolls turning their backs on them, bringing up the Bucks and their "FTR" sh*t-talking to once more manipulate Page into looking upon them as the real enemy to his career progression. The Bucks thought FTR were beneath them, and Hangman knew exactly what that felt like. He couldn't risk them overshadowing him again.
