THIS WWE Legend Told The Undertaker He Had To "Change Up" His Gimmick

One of The Undertaker's best friends told him he had to change with the times.

It's Kevin Nash!

That's right. 'Big Sexy' once warned The Undertaker that he should "change up [his] gimmick" or risk being left in the dust. Nash told Eric Bischoff's '83 Weeks' podcast that he talked to 'Taker back in the late-90s - Kev was actually trying to convince his pal to trade the WWF for WCW, but 'The Deadman' was having none of that.

Presumably, he wasn't too chuffed to hear Nash suggest that he'd have "no bargaining power" to speak of if he didn't try something new either. Less than a full year later though, 'Taker switched things up by softening his supernatural image and becoming a more realistic biker character.

Kevin was quick to edit his comments by adding, "I’m not saying that [our conversation] made him turn into the American Badass, but I’m just saying that American Badass you can take pretty much wherever you want to go".

It's actually fascinating to look back on The Undertaker's massive change in May 2000 (he re-debuted at Judgment Day that year) and realise how big a risk it was. Nash, apparently, was all for it. That was the 'Taker he would've wanted over in WCW.
