With the 2021 edition of the ESPYS having taken place last night, Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 37 won the award for the Best WWE Moment.

Having won the women's Royal Rumble in January, Belair went on to topple Banks to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion at this year's Showcase of the Immortals. That barnburner of a bout closed of the first night of the two-day WrestleMania 37, going 18 minutes before the EST put Sasha away with her patented Kiss of Death.

In a category that also featured Belair and Edge’s Royal Rumble Match victories, as well as Bad Bunny’s incredible in-ring debut, it was the epic WrestleMania main event between The EST of WWE and The Boss for the SmackDown Women’s Championship that won the ESPY Award for Best WWE Moment.

As the first Black women to battle in a WrestleMania main event, they joined Roman Reigns, who won the same award in 2019 for his inspirational return after battling leukemia.

Congratulations to SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and “The Boss” Sasha Banks on a history-making and award-winning performance.

Still the SmackDown Women's Champion, Bianca Belair is due to defend her prize against Carmella on this coming Friday's blue brand offering. As for Sasha Banks, she's been absent from WWE programming since WrestleMania - although the Boss is expected to return in time for next month's SummerSlam PPV.
