While it was reported earlier this summer that Cedric Alexander had signed with TNA, it appears it was only a short-term deal for the former WWE Tag Team Champion.

Per Fightful Select, Cedric's existing TNA deal is up around the time of Bound for Glory. As in, the upcoming TNA PPV which takes place next Sunday. This report adds how TNA is hopeful of re-signing Alexander, and that the one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion is one of several TNA talents whose contracts are set to expire around the same time.

There's no word right now exactly which other talents are to due to see their deals expire imminently, although previous reports stated how Masha Slamovich had been kept away from the current NXT x TNA Showdown story due to her TNA contract coming to an end. Many had speculated that Slamovich could well be WWE-bound once her TNA deal was up, but there are major questions surrounding Masha's future right now following allegations of domestic abuse towards he former partner AKIRA. Elsewhere, Matt Cardona is currently working for TNA without being under contract, but that's nothing uncommon for the Deathmatch King.

To circle back to Cedric Alexander, this Fightful report makes mention that the members of the Hurt Syndicate have been keen for him to rejoin the group in AEW, but that obviously hasn't happened yet, nor are there any imminent plans for that right now.

Cedric arrived in TNA back in June, initially feuding with Mustafa Ali, before then getting involved in the X Division picture, coming up short twice against X Division Champion Leon Slater in recent months. Prior to that, Alexander had been with WWE since 2016 and was released by the company this past February.
