TNA's 10 Craziest Matches

10. Sam Shaw vs. Mr. Anderson - Committed Match

Sam Shaw started off with a fairly promising gimmick upon his TNA re-debut. He was a Patrick Bateman, American Psycho -esque character who developed an unhealthy infatuation with announcer Christy Hemme.

On an episode of Impact, Shaw saw Mr. Anderson talking to his not-so-secret love, and in a fit of jealous rage beat him up. Thus kicked off a bad story, which traveled down a dark road, and then lead into a ridiculous, and probably highly illegal match.

The two first battled inside of a cage with Shaw picking up the victory. It was a nice win for him. It's too bad they didn't stop there. Lives would be changed. But TNA decided to jump head-first into the crazy pool, and had Anderson and Shaw end their feud at Sacrifice in a Committed Match. It was basically an ambulance match, where you had to put your opponent in the back of the vehicle. But when Shaw lost, he was driven straight to a psychiatric facility. He was committed for losing a wrestling match!

Somehow this stipulation was legally binding, as we saw videos of him inside the hospital over the next few weeks. Lose a fight and get forced into a hospital for an undetermined amount of time. Somebody needs to change this law, dammit!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
