As previously reported, AEW's aesthetics are set for a major makeover from 4 January.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer recently reported that AEW television would soon be getting a new look, with plans expected to come to fruition at some stage in January. This followed highly-regarded former WWE executive Michael Mansury's appointment as Senior Vice President and Co-Executive Producer last week.

AEW founder and CEO Tony Khan has now commented on the new aesthetics for the first time, confirming they will come into play from Dynamite's 4 January 2023 episode.

Speaking with TV Insider, Khan claimed he was excited about the changes, which will coincide with Dynamite's one-year anniversary on TBS:-

"I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag necessarily, especially so close to the big day. But at the start of 2023, we’re going to open the year on Wednesday, January 4 with the first Dynamite in Seattle, marking a full year of Dynamite on TBS. We’ll definitely have a new look, to say the least. I’m excited about it."

Although Khan didn't want to build the new look up too much, as he doesn't want to create unrealistic expectations, he called them "beautiful."

Rampage, like Dynamite, will benefit from the makeover. Said Khan:-

"The look of Rampage will also be different. This will affect the way people view AEW on Wednesdays and Fridays in terms of presentation with the set and the show with the same great action."

AEW's weekly television shows have largely had the same look and feel since Dynamite debuted on TNT in October 2019. The promotion sometimes switches things up for its pay-per-views, though the changes are never drastic.
