Tony Khan Shoots On Chances Of Shane McMahon Signing For AEW

Will the former WWE star become All Elite soon? Tony Khan weighs in on rumours.

Tony Khan doesn't expect to get a phone call from ex-WWE star Shane McMahon anytime soon.

Shane-O was released by WWE shortly after the Royal Rumble amidst reports that his ego had been out of control backstage at the pay-per-view. It didn't take long before McMahon was being linked to a sensational jump over to AEW, but Khan doesn't see that happening.

Also, as Tony told Sports Illustrated, Vinnie Mac's lad probably wouldn't be "a fit" for All Elite's roster. His arrival would create buzz and make the headlines, but that's not quite enough for Khan - he's not really certain that Shane would be interested in working for anybody else in the wrestling biz anyway.

McMahon is much more likely to let things cool off before launching a WWE return at some point in the future. That's his dad's company, and he might reason that he has unfinished business after the Rumble controversy.

Tony did end the interview with a quick, "You never know". Few could've anticipated some of the major moments that have happened in wrestling over the past few years. Shane to AEW would be a seismic shock though.
