As if further proof was needed that CM Punk is a major difference maker in the modern wrestling landscape, the 45-year-old's WWE return appears to have impacted the company's media rights negotiations.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, WWE's talks regarding a new television deal for Raw have changed greatly over the past few weeks, with Punk playing a big role.

Meltzer tweeted:

Things are changing greatly. Let's just say things changed greatly with Raw negotiations from a few weeks ago. And Punk is a huge part of the selling point.

No further details on the current state of play re: a new WWE Raw television deal have emerged. In November, however, it was revealed that Paul 'Triple H' Levesque missed an episode of Raw as he and WWE President Nick Khan were in Los Angeles, California, working on "securing the media rights deal for Monday Night Raw going forward."

WWE's deal to air Raw on USA Network is believed to expire in October 2024.
