Paul “Triple H” Levesque has opened up about a recent creative disagreement with CM Punk, offering rare insight into how the two company pillars have managed their working relationship since Punk’s return to WWE.

Speaking on The High Performance Podcast, Triple H recalled a specific incident where Punk took issue with a creative direction pitched to him. According to Levesque, the matter ultimately helped redefine their dynamic backstage and has since turned into a positive.

We’ve had a couple of moments since his return,” Triple H said. “There was one moment where he was told something creatively, and people came to me saying, ‘he does not like this.’ I said, ‘okay, I’ll talk to him.’”

Rather than ignoring the feedback, Levesque approached Punk directly. “I went to talk to him and said, ‘what’s going on?’ I told him the creative, and he was like, ‘it’s good, whatever.’ But I knew he didn’t like it - everyone told me. So I said, ‘let’s be open.’”

Punk then expressed his concerns, and the two decided to sit down and rework the idea together. What could’ve been a roadblock turned into a breakthrough in communication. “That was a paradigm shift for us relationship-wise,” Levesque explained. “Now, sitting down and being collaborative with CM Punk is one of my favourite things at TV. He shares a very similar view of the business as I do, at the end of the day.

This candid moment between the two former WWE Champions highlights quite the shift in attitudes for both men, who famously (and infamously) clashed during Punk’s initial WWE run. But 'The Game' clearly wants to think with his business head on even if a personality clash still existed - since his iconic return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series, Punk’s comeback has generated intense and constant fan interest, despite 'The Voice Of The Voiceless' losing the bulk of his first year back with the company to injury. To that point, Punk is currently preparing to main event WrestleMania for the first time, working against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in the headline attraction of Night One.
