There was a time not long ago when Cain Velasquez was hyped to be an unbeatable machine that would dominate the UFC heavyweight division for years to come. He had amassed an impressive string of victories - including an embarrassing win over Brock Lesnar - and people began to think there may be truth to the hype.

Then Junior Dos Santos' fist touched the side of his head and that myth was put to rest in just 64 seconds. In a quest to regain the HW title, Velasquez began putting together another winning streak, reclaiming the belt he lost to JDS. But while he may have the heart of a champion he has the body of Mr. Glass from the movie Unbreakable and it's caused him to spend more time on the sidelines than he has training and competing.

UFC 200 was his first fight in 13 months, a title-losing effort against Fabricio Werdum being his last appearance. The talented fighter was matched up against Ronda Rousey's boyfriend, Travis Browne, and it was clear from the start of the contest that on this particular night "Hapa" was outclassed.

Cain won by stoppage in the first in what was a questionable call by John McCarthy. Browne was facedown on the canvas with Velasquez on top of him landing punches, but not only were they soft shots but there was less then ten seconds left in the firrt round when the referee called an end to the contest. Contrast that stoppage with a fight like Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman, where Weidman was given so much leeway that he damn near died in the cage and the stoppage is a little infuriating, but the end result would have likely been the same regardless.
