UFC 235 Predictions

UFC 235 is going to have a lot of attention on it, due to the sheer amount of star power on the card. Therefore, it's a smart move for the promotion to give some attention to some of the lesser-known divisions that they have by putting the spotlight on exciting fights. By pitting two top quality strawweight contenders in Tecia Torres and Weili Zhang against each other they've done just that.

While Torres has never quite made it to the top of division, she's been a mainstay in the strawweight top ten for quite awhile now. With solid wrestling and an ever improving striking, 'Tiny Tornado' has always posed a threat to anyone standing opposite her in the Octagon. The one thing holding her back is that she's smaller in size and height than the vast majority of her division.

Her opponent, Weili Zhang, has looked exceptional in her first two UFC outings, especially in her last fight against wily veteran Jessica Aguilar where she used her elbows from her back to finish the fight. Despite her impressive 18 fight win-streak, Zhang has never really faced a fighter quite as tough as the Torres and this is going to be a huge challenge for her.

Although Zhang has the potential to be an elite level strawweight in the future, she's not quite at that level yet and that could be her undoing.
