The Undertaker: 10 Great WWE Moments You Completely Forgot About

5. Putting Jeff Hardy Over

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_ANV_KiB9Q Jeff Hardy was a Hardy Boy. That was how he entered WWE and it was how he was always known. He and Matt were a very dynamic, very exciting tag team that achieved great heights in the company but at the end of the day, Jeff was a Hardy Boy and nothing more. But on one fateful night in 2002, Jeff Hardy suddenly became something much more; a contender. Jeff faced The Undertaker in a ladder match main event for the WWE Championship. It was a match that was right down Jeff's alley, as The Hardys became the masters of the ladder during their TLC bouts against Edge, Christian and The Dudley Boyz. But while Jeff was comfortable in the ring, he was standing across from the reaper. The Undertaker was in the Big Evil gimmick and he took no prisoners. He sought to make an example of the young man in the ring that night and even though Jeff fought valiantly, Taker did eventually win the match. But it was what came after that surprised every fan watching. Jeff kept getting back to his feet. As Jim Ross begged Jeff to stay down, the young Superstar just kept getting up. The Deadman could have taken that as an insult and destroyed him but instead he patted Jeff's head and raised his hand. It was the ultimate sign of respect from WWE's most celebrated performer. Getting the stamp of approval from Undertaker in WWE is the first step toward bigger and better things. This was definitely true in the case of Jeff Hardy.
