Fightful is reporting that WWE and Becky Lynch are still able to use 'The Man' nickname whenever they like.

There had been talk that legal issues with Ric Flair were barring the company from marketing Lynch under that moniker - some reasoned that this is why WWE moved away from 'The Man' and started calling Becky 'Big Time Becks' instead.

According to Fightful's report, that's a creative decision more than anything. Both WWE and Lynch believe that she's better off trying something different for the time being, and that's why 'Big Time Becks' became the focal point following her return at last August's SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Flair had alluded to the idea that he owns the rights to 'The Man' on his podcast. That legal battle may still be ongoing, but it is true that WWE are free to continue selling merchandise for Becky with that branding on it. In fact, the company's official online store currently has several items bearing 'The Man' name.

Again, this appears to be some fresh creative direction instead of an attempt to appease Ric. 'The Man' character could make a return at any point.
