Update On Why Jon Moxley Is Off AEW TV

It's bad timing creatively, but here's why Jon Moxley is absent from AEW shows.

Fightful Select is reporting that Blackpool Combat Club man Jon Moxley is currently missing from AEW TV because he was always scheduled to take some time off.

Fans had been wondering where Moxley was. Many also expected Mox and partner Claudio Castagnoli to take part in AEW's Tag-Team Title tournament that'll crown new champions following Sting's retirement, but the BCC is totally missing from those tourney brackets.

FTR, the team Mox and Claudio beat back at Revolution, are in the tournament though. That's a bit of a head-scratcher to those hoping Tony Khan would stay true to the title rankings.

Fightful didn't go into details about any of that. Their report simply stated that Jon's hiatus was planned well in advance. He does have some bookings coming up in Mexico at the end of March, and is also slated to work dates in Japan come early-April.

There's no word yet on exactly when Moxley will return to shows like Dynamite, Rampage or Collision, or if he'll work any kind of match at Dynasty. That's AEW's next pay-per-view on 21 April, and is where they'll fill the vacant tag title slots.
