Update On WWE's Next NXT Premium Live Event
WWE developmental brand getting back into swing of regular PLEs.
The new WWE regime has already seen NXT undergo several changes during the past three months, and it looks like another is on the horizon.
Since Vince McMahon's ouster, we've seen the color-splotched, Attitude Era-lite NXT 2.0 replaced with a hybrid of that technicolor brand and the old black-and-gold NXT that dominated the late 2010s. More main roster stars have made their way to Florida, and several NXT superstars have had their number called for Raw or SmackDown.
One more change could be a return to more routine special events for the developmental brand.
Fightful Select reports that NXT talent have been informed that December 10 is internally scheduled for an NXT premium live event, which would be the brand's third PLE in as many months. That's as many PLEs as NXT held during its entire year-long rebrand as 2.0.
The planned event is rumored to be associated with the "Deadline" trademark that was filed, though Fightful hasn't confirmed that as the PLE's official name.
Interestingly, December 10 is also the date of Ring of Honor's Final Battle PPV, though that event is scheduled for the afternoon, while NXT's PLE is slated for the night.
The December event, which is reportedly planned to be held at the WWE Performance Center, could be announced as soon as this weekend's Halloween Havoc PLE.
