Vince McMahon Is Back On His Bullsh*t

Disgraced despot dictates dire directive.

Vince McMahon
WWE

That summary line is brutal, isn't it? Who deals in alliteration that isn't a 16 year-old who hasn't yet worked out that it isn't as clever as they think it is?

You may have noticed, on the July 17 WWE Raw, that a lot of wrestlers were described with new alliterative nicknames. Terrible new alliterative nicknames.

Dirty Dominik Mysterio.

Big Bronson Reed.

And, over on SmackDown, Scintillating Santos Escobar.

It's no surprise, obviously - three of the original big four PPVs are alliterative - but it's very hacky.

As reported by Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this, you'll be surprised to learn, was "a directive from Vince McMahon". It was "confirmed" to Meltzer that this was the latest set of superficial, quickly abandoned changes to a show that - for whatever reason - he hasn't taken full control over.

The following light bit of speculation has nothing to do with Meltzer's report, but why is Vince making these insignificant changes, virtually, from afar? Is he bored? Is he waiting, with remarkable patience, for the numbers to decline so that he can use that as pretext to execute the coup?

Who knows, but if Jabroni Johnny Gargano turns up next week, don't be surprised.
