Vince McMahon turned 77 years old on 24 August - and spent his birthday with WWE legend John Cena.

Snapped in public for the first time since his resignation as WWE Chairman and CEO on 22 July, McMahon was seen at New York City's Waverly Inn restaurant accompanied by an unidentified woman. With them were Cena and wife Shay Shariatzadeh.

Vince's estranged wife, Linda McMahon, was unsurprisingly nowhere to be seen in the photographs and footage published by TMZ.

McMahon has kept a low public profile since formally departing WWE in July, ending his 40-year tenure atop the world's biggest wrestling promotion. Though initially claimed a "retirement", the departure was later described as a "resignation" in official documentation relating to the move, with the split reportedly expedited by the SEC and federal prosecutors launching an investigation into his alleged misconduct.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal first in June, but across the last few months as a whole, Vince is alleged to have paid millions of dollars to various parties in attempts at suppressing allegations of sexual misconduct. Though he temporarily stood down from his executive positions in June, he resigned outright the following month.
