Vince Russo: 10 Reasons WCW Was Its Own Worst Enemy

6. The Vets Ruled The Roost

WWE.comWWE.comThe first day I ever walked into a WCW locker room, it was crystal clear---the veterans ruled the roast. It was almost as if you had two different classes of wrestlers---the big hitters stay on their side---and, everybody else find a space in the bathroom. Yes---it was that obvious to me. There was a division from the start, there was no €œteam€ environment like the one I had just left behind at WWE. The veterans did not want to work with the younger guys, forget about putting them over. That€™s why so many mid-card guys were stuck there right in the middle. An environment was created there long before Ed and I ever arrived. That made it extremely difficult for there to ever be an even playing field. Eventually----I would quickly lose that war.
