WCW's Dungeon Of Doom: Where Are They Now?

4. Loch Ness And Braun The Leprechaun

Known for his popular run as Giant Haystacks in England’s World of Sport, Martin Ruane’s run in the states was short lived. Joining the Dungeon of Doom in 1996 as Loch Ness, he battled (guess who) Hulk Hogan, before a cancer diagnosis forced him to return to the UK. Though Ruane ultimately died of the disease two years later, but still lives on as one of Britain’s legendary big men, a 6ft 11, 600+ lb behemoth who helped to popularise the sport in the British Isles.

Known for his brutal training regimens, WCW Power Plant DeWayne Bruce produced some big names in the 90s, including Goldberg, Torrie Wilson and Big Show. But outside of training, he also appeared as Braun the Leprechaun, a sort of primordial Hornswoggle character who would bite his foes on the armpit. A hyperactive caricature of a brawler, Braun the Leprechaun’s stint with the Dungeon was brief, before he was recalled to the Power Plant – presumably to train a new generation of stars, and not to find his Lucky Charms.

British viewers may remember him from his appearance on Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, wherein his workout forced Louis to throw up, following the journalist’s accusations that wrestling was fake.
