WCW's Dungeon Of Doom: Where Are They Now?

7. The Zodiac And The Shark

Better known as Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake, the real life Ed Leslie appeared in WCW as one third of the Three Faces of Fear, which also included The Shark (then known as Avalanche). After feuding with Hulk Hogan, the Faces eventually disbanded, before eventually reforming as part of The Dungeon of Doom. As The Zodiac, Leslie wore black and white facepaint with bedraggled hair, and would only ever shout the words “No!” and “Yes!” repeatedly.

Meanwhile, The Shark (real name John Tenta) joined The Dungeon thanks to a mutual hatred of Hogan and his buddies. Looking like a non-ironic Shark Boy, The Shark was so confident in his new gimmick (which he had been forced to change after WWF’s lawyers accused Avalanche of being too similar to Tenta’s WWF character Earthquake) that he even had his tiger tattoo altered to that of a shark.

Eventually, The Zodiac would be revealed as a double-agent planted by Hulk Hogan, and would go on to debut a few more gimmicks in WCW, including The Booty Man (he loved his own butt) and The Disciple (a generic nWo member). The Shark would also leave The Dungeon behind, and go on to feud with several of its members.

Since leaving WCW, Leslie wrestles sporadically for various promotions, and has started his own wrestling school. In 2013, he was removed from Toronto City Hall, after approaching Mayor Rob Ford with a pair of shears, claiming he needed “an intervention”.

After leaving WCW, Tenta wrestled again for WWF as one half of The Oddities. He died in 2006, aged 42, after a battle with bladder cancer.
