The Total Package was one of the biggest names of the 1990s. After that infamous debut on Nitro where he appeared unannounced less than 24 hours after his WWE contract expired, Lex's career went from strength to strength as he won two WCW World Heavyweight Championships, five United States Championships, three World Tag Team Championship, two World Television Championships and a Triple Crown. When the buy out from WWE occurred, Luger wasn't in a good place. Vince McMahon asked fans if he should sign him and they all replied with an emphatic no. He was then involved in the controversy surrounding Miss Elizabeth's death before turning his life around and declaring himself as a born again Christian in 2006. In 2013, Lex released his first book entitled Wrestling With The devil: The True Story of World Champion Professional Wrestler - His Reign, Run and Redemption. The book discussed the trials and tribulations Lex endured during his wrestling career, with dark stories involving his life in and out of the ring. In addition to his writing Lex continues to work for WWE. Luger began to work for the company in 2011, aiding them with their Wellness Policy. Luger works behind the curtain aiding the superstars with nutrition, wellness, training and how to maintain a healthy body. He is there to damage control and ensure the stars of today don't make the same mistakes that so many of his generation did.
